Keep On Serving With The Spirit Of Selflessness
Gursikh takes to sewa by giving up ego and the feeling of doership. He does not want himself to be counted or take credit for rendering sewa. Rather, he consider himself to be an instrument for sewa—lucky enough to be chosen by Satguru and given opportunity to serve. He prays that he should never get lured by such worldly attractions which may distract him from sewa. It’s one good luck to get opportunity to selfless service. Sewa has great significance. It is a contribution without wishing for any reward of being honoured and hailed. Devotees do immense sewa with the spirit of commitment and sacrifice. May everyone in the society attain this spirit of selfless service so that they get over selfishness and honestly serve the country and society. This way, there will be no marauding and jostling and instead we should only make our contribution in spreading cheers so that there should be happiness all around.
Only Love Makes One Truly Devout
There is a saying in English ‘If you cannot unite in faiths, let’s unite in love’. The so called religions and faiths have never united us nor shall they ever unite us. They have always created distances (separated us). The underlying message is to rise above the faiths and unite through love. When love unites us, we shall come closer. We are seeing that people are rather speaking the language of hatred. Atrocities were committed on prophets, saints and sages only due to hatred. Those who never let love rule their hearts, spit the fire of hatred. Kabir ji has said,”Dhai Akhar Prem Ka Parhe So Pandit Hoye.” i.e. merely gaining worldly knowledge and learning appropriate conduct does not make one a true devotee or religious person i.e. only love makes one truly devout. People with cruelty, hatred, animosity and jealously are living with a false notion that they are devout. They are unaware of the real benchmark of being religious. The actual benchmark/parameters of being religious have been set by prophets, saints and sages. The spirits of love, forgiveness and accepting others is true identity of being religious and humane.
