Truly Important Are Deeds And Conduct
In the world there is no match between word and deed. One goes on speaking throughout the day and if someone points out this to him, he says: It is not my habit to speak. Again, he is a rank egoist but if someone tells him that he is and egoist, he retorts: How dare you call me an egoist? He is greedy but if one calls him greedy, he counters: How dare you call me greedy? He would deny that he has any desire, though he wishes to grab all and usurp all. Thus there is a glaring difference between word and mentality. Here we are reiterating that importance lies in the state of mind and not in the words. Truly important are deeds and conduct. A Das is not a title or a word but a state of mind which is known by one's conduct: Conduct speaks louder than words. Whatever one speaks reflects one's conduct. Holy beings have been inspiring man for such a noble conduct and the one, who attains such a state, ennobles his life and attains greatness. But the one, who merely speaks, is far from attaining such state.
Benefit Of Holy Congregation
There is a great benefit of the company of saints-holy congregation. In the holy congregation, we come close to fellow devotees and listen to their inspiring words. We also draw inspiration from their lives which gives us courage and strength. Whatever the difficulties, saints and devotees encourage us to face and surmount the same. Their company and words bestow strength and hence the importance of the congregation of saints. In case one falters, the devotees encourage one to march on.Thus the contribution of the devotees is greatly beneficial. We often hear people uttering words of encouragement to a friend or a relation. In this context I am reminded of the words: We may have an aim, intention and efforts to be the best but in case we fail to achieve the aim, we should not stop trying or deviate from the path. It is also said: Success is not being the best and winning the game, it is handling the worst and finishing the game. If despite efforts the aim is not achieved, it does not mean that one should give up trying and reading on the path of truth, turn to the world and fall a victim to misconceptions and avoid holy congregation or waver in one's faith in God. Holy beings teach that one should not stop trying for any reason. As already stated after handling the worst and finishing the race, the one who marches on is considered successful.
