A Devotee Is Always Deeply Attached To His Lord
Saints say: 'Jal pyara maachhari, lobhi payara daam. Maat pyara baalka, Bhagat payara Ram'. A fish loves water, because it knows that it will die without water. 'Tuj se niksi phoot maraan'. This is the tale of a fish that it is in trouble when out of water. Sometimes, when we visit a sea-shore, we find that when a wave comes from the sea, it leaves behind thousands of fishes just dying on the sea-shore as the wave recedes to merge with the sea. So long as the fish is out of water, it is in trouble fighting for its life. But if a passer-by picks a few fishes and puts them again into the water, they survive. But, a greedy person always runs after money. As is said: ' Chamri jaaye per Damri na jaaye'. This is the state of affair of a greedy man who won't spend even a penny for treatment of his ailment. He rather runs after money only. Similarly, child loves his mother and a devotee is deeply attached to his Lord. A devotee always considers devotion to God as the basis of his life.
Love Has A Great Importance In Devotion
The devotees have always begged for a life full of devotion. Love has a great importance in devotion. Equipped with true love, devotees engage in complete devotion. When love is added to devotion, it is 'Prembhakti' i.e 'loving devotion'. Also, there is no devotion without love. People are practising different forms of devotion, devoid of love. However, true devotion is loving devotion. All the saints have given importance to this love. Saint Kabir drew the attention of the world to ' Dhai Akshar Prem Ke'. That after reading scriptures, man wants to be known as a 'Pandit' (learned person); but if he is devoid of love, he can't be called a 'Pandit'. Every guru and prophet taught the lesson of love and inspired to lead a meaningful life by connecting with God because God is the embodiment of love and the source of love.
