When Saints Meet, They Get Overwhelmed With Joy
If There is hatred in heart, one doesn't feel happy on meeting a gursikh. The saints say that the state of mind of a gursikh is such that he feels excited on seeing a fellow gursikh. But my state of mind is such that on seeing a gursikh, I feel nervous. So, on one side it is excitement and on the other, it is nervousness. We have to truly love others through our thoughts and words. We should have love and respect for others from the core of our heart and not that we just show off love and respect but in our hearts we have a feeling of jealousy and hatred. Since ages the saints have said: "Chaar mile chounsath khile, bees mile kar jor, Gursikh ko gursikh mile, phoole saat crore." That is when two saints meet, their four eyes meet, sixty four teeth get flashed with a broad smile, twenty fingers are joined in the shape of folded hands and seven crore body pores emanate with joy. This saying holds true for the one who has the state of mind of a gursikh, whose soul is illumined with divine light and who looks through the divine eyes.
Devotee Like Conduct Is The identity Of a Guru's Disciple
The devotee like conduct is the identity of a gursikh. This identity/ recognition is not on account of his outwardly appearance i.e. his typical style of dress, or his status or position in the society. The thinking, feeling, conduct and character of a devotee is not owing to donning saffron, white, blue or any other colour clothes. His real recognition is through his vision, thoughts, feelings, character, speech and temperament. If one claims to be a gurmukh, then he must first look inward and see how strong his discipleship is and to what extent he has imbibed the qualities of a gursikh. And if one lacks this saintly qualities, one must strive to strengthen them. If there is deficiency of such saintly qualities, then efforts must be made to fulfil that deficiency. Thus, one must do this self evaluation before anybody else does it. One must take care and mend oneself to take glory. The saint, who bows to another saint, respects him feels pleasure in meeting fellow saints and strengthen the qualities, he is counted among gursikhs.
