The coming of the New Year is not that we begin fresh with old habits. Yes, old habits we have to continue but only those which are fruitful for whole of mankind, which gives happiness to others; and should become a way of life. So, where the good wishes are given to the near ones and the dear ones and prayers are being made for the welfare of the whole of mankind, at the same time the saints who have got this enlightenment, who do Sewa, Satsang and Sumiran, it is prayed that they always have awareness which is always desired in a saint. They are the illumined souls. They have to dispel darkness from this world. They are answerable, they are responsible and they have to become models for others to follow. They have to show exemplary love and tolerance. They have to live a life of devotee which is full of devotion. I pray to Nirankar to bless you all with strength and wisdom so that in the New Year all may live peacefully and all may have happiness and prosperity.

The company of saints is ever beneficial. There is not one but several benefits. By imbibing the teachings of holy beings, one can shed the negative tendencies and tread the path of Truth. Holy beings teach not to be egoist but humble and conscious of God: when one is conscious of God, one realises that one is not equal to even a particle of dust; even the human body has no importance for him. I have no existence. I am like a bubble of water; how long can a bubble of water exist? I am no more than a particle of sand lying on the shore of an ocean; even less than it. Even if one lives, say for one hundred years, it has no comparison with eternity. Holy beings exhort man not to imbibe ego or pride. The egoist gain nothing but disgrace. Are kings Ravna, Kansa, Hiranyakashyap, Duryodhan, the egoist, praised? No. they are rather cursed. Ravana's effigy is burnt year after year. Thus the egoist are looked down upon: no one shows them any respect. That is why holy being repeatedly exhort man to shed ego which brings one's downfall. That is why no one should imbibe ego, rather shed it.
