Real Essence Of Devotion
As heard a little earlier, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji used to say that before building a house, we draw its blue print. The house is constructed accordingly. Till the time that building gets complete, we cannot take rest in it, nor can we eat food there. Also, if the building does not have a roof, we cannot be protected from heat or rain. Once the house is ready, we can then sit inside the house and enjoy all comforts. But, till the time it is in the form of a map, we cannot have these comforts. Thus, there is one house which is on the paper, and the other one is a real house. It is the constructed house which is a real house. In the same manner, though we know the fundamentals of devotion, viz., to do sewa, simran and satsang, speak sweetly with all and be compassionate to all. But, what exactly matters is the intention or spirit behind it; whether we are doing devotion out of love, fear or for any other reason. If we inquire with ourselves about these aspects, we find that devotion is a personal journey of every individual. It is not like in a family if one member is a devout, the devotion of all other family members is accepted. Each one has to perform one's own devotion. Each one has to maintain a separate and personal relationship with Lord Nirankar.
Connect With Nirankar And Lead A Composed Life
Let us try to observe and adopt each virtue of the almighty Nirankar in our lives. Let us try to establish equanimity like God in ourself. Situations and circumstances will sometimes be as per our wish, while at others, against our wish. We cannot change the worldly situations, but we can surely achieve composure of mind by connecting with Nirankar. We are not supposed to hold grudges or speak rudely even with a person whom we do not like. Our mind should always be calm and self-collected. This state can be achieved when we perceive every will of almighty God as a sweet blessing, understanding that everything that Nirankar does, is for our larger good.
