Saints And Devotees Always Speak Of Truth
There is only on steering in a vehicle. With the same steering one can reach his destination or push the vehicle into a ditch. So is the case with mind, which is one and should be focused on God. One is considered wise if one does so. If the mind is focused on God, it is bound to be sublime and blissful. Then it imbibes compassion and kindness and is purified: there remains no room for cleverness and cunningness: it is innocent. It is for this reason that the devotees are revered in this world. They are ever God conscious and remain immersed in God-remembrance. They continue to evolve higher and higher and attain greatness. The devotees inspire us to focus our mind on God, so that it may remain pure, pious and sublime. As already stated, a sublime mind sublimates life. The devotees pray that they may remain ever united with God and never forget Him and keep the company of saints. If we are introduced to a lawyer, we immediately think of a court, and if to a football player, we think of a play ground and if to a doctor, we think of our own illness or that of an acquaintance. Similarly, if we are introduced to a saint, we think of God and His bounties and blessings. The devotees therefore, pray that they may meet those on meeting whom they think of God. Saints and devotees always speak of Truth and it depends upon an individual to believe or not. Words of saints are like a mirror looking into which one can embellish oneself; in this lies the wisdom.
The Path Of A Saint Is Different From That Of A Worldly Person
It is the teaching of the True Master not to consider oneself as superior and others as inferior, not to boast of one’s own virtues and find faults in others and not forget that there can be virtues in others too. The True Master inspires us to learn from others, imbibe virtues and shed our own weaknesses. Our well being lies in following what Saint Kabir said ‘I am the worst, except me all are good. Whoever so believes is my friend.’ Saints have such a vision and therefore they do not regard anyone as bad or inferior. On the contrary, a worldly person is proud of his intellect and considers himself perfect. A person wanted to buy oranges from a vendor sitting at a roadside. He told the vendor that the oranges were of small size in comparison to the price demanded. The latter requested the former to sit down and look at the oranges which were of normal size. The perceived difference in the size of the oranges was due to the difference in the level from which the former was looking at the oranges. What is meant is that the vision with which saints and devotees perceive, no one is low or inferior. This is the difference between their vision and that of the worldly. It is aptly said: The path of a saint is different from that of a worldly person. May the Lord bless all with the wisdom and strength to tread the path of truth.
