A sparrow picks up a burning straw and throws it on a heap of dry wood which ignites fire, spread by the wind. Another sparrow beholds the fire spreading and thinks of extinguishing it. It flies to a nearby pond and dips in the water and also fills water in its beak. Then it flies back to the spot where there is fire and throws down the water from its beak as well as from its wings on the fire by violently fluttering its wings. It repeats this act. The sparrow which caused the fire makes fun of it and enquires: can you extinguish the fire like this? And the latter replies: no, but I am doing my little bit and confident that when the people would talk of the incident, I would be counted as one of those who extinguished the fire. What is meant that those, who cause the fire of hatred in the name of caste, community, religion etc., in the world, are many, and if fire does not spread, they add fuel on it, causing conflicts and clashes for their selfish ends. This is the way of the world. May all be blessed with the wisdom to awaken from the slumber of ignorance and sublimate their here and hereafter. May all imbibe saintly teachings and embellish the world so that peace, bliss and happiness may prevail all around.

Once a saint pointed his finger at the moon. His followers started staring at it [finger]. Questioned as to what they were seeing, they replied that they were staring at his finger. The saint told him that his finger was pointed at the moon and they should see the moon. This is what is happening in the world. Instead of catching the spirit of the holy scriptures, people are confined to the letter thereof. Holy beings repeatedly exhort man to seek their guidance in case he is unable to understand them. Holy beings advice man that if due to his ignorance he has not realized God so far, he should realize Him at least now. Holy teachings have been conveyed in the form of a message to every human being but he has so many excuses and arguments to give. Even he listens to the holy beings, he lays down conditions for following them. At times, he sets silly conditions like a child who would agree to what his elders say only if he grows moustaches in a day. What is meant is that often people lay down silly conditions. However the right condition is ‘When you go to meet a saint, you should not take anything along: You should not retrace your steps, rather march forward’. Holy beings wish that people may be redeemed and rid of misconceptions and realize the truth.
