We know so many scientists like Einstein who by their numerous inventions have benefited the world but they say that all they have known was not worth a particle of sand lying on the seashore. Even after knowing so much they say that they know so little, which reflects their humility. Similarly, a devotee, who is highly revered, says that he has not really imbibed even a little of devotion. In truth, the one, who is great but regards himself low, is indeed great. A devotee possesses many virtues but says that he knows very little and has to learn much as yet. He is ever eager to learn. He continues to learn by which his devotion is strengthened. If one considers himself perfect and none as wise as he, how can he learn? For him all doors are closed and the way to progress blocked. He shall remain stuck where he is or he will slide from where he is. What is meant is that the devotees have a special place in the world but regard themselves as humble, not even equal to the dust of the holy feet. This is how they consider themselves and yet they are regarded as great, nay the greatest, because they continue to imbibe humility.
