It is the mind which has to remember God and be united with him. Then and then alone it will be blessed. Unless we pour water on our body, it cannot be washed even if water lies before us. A thing may be big or small, its availability alone can serve the purpose. Though small in size, the thin needle is needed to stitch a cloth. Similarly, only when the mind is focused on God, it finds its anchor[Godhood]. Holy beings have been teaching for ages that if mind is not fixed on God but on the world, it cannot become godly. Mind is like a bird which flies in any direction. If it sits on an apple tree, it will enjoy its sweetness and if it sits on a Neem[Margosa] tree, it will savour bitterness. Similarly, the mind is affected by the surroundings. God and not the world is the source of bliss and piety. For piety and bliss, mind has to be united with God instead of the world. Then the thoughts are pure, the mind sublime, and when the mind is sublime, life becomes sublime. Those who lead a sublime life, earn glory in the world. Therefore, communion with God is essential. It is essential to imbibe sublime thoughts. Devoid of sublime thoughts, a mind cannot be purified. The mind is like a pot. If there is a hole in it, that is, it is in attentive, it cannot hold the thoughts.
