Saints Appeared On This Earth To prescribe The Right Path
No doubt man wishes to have peace. Is there anyone who doesn’t want peace, comfort and happiness? Whether one believes in God or not, whether one lives in a palace or a hut, no one will say that he does not want bliss and peace. Everyone desires that. So, saints say that your desire is there but the path you have adopted doesn’t match with the desire. Like I often give an example of a person who is shouting and crying for coolness and comfort. But what means does he adopt? He sits near a burning furnace. Now, what shall we call such a person? If a person shouts that he is desirous of coolness and comfort, one expects that he’ll go to a river or look for the shade of a tree. However, this strange person who talks about cool comfort, goes to a burning furnace. So, man has continued to commit such mistakes. He doesn’t adopt the means which have been suggested by scriptures, saints, gurus and prophets, since ages. All saints appeared on this earth to prescribe the right path. But ironically, despite reading and listening, man has made the worldly wealth and false fame as his means to achieve bliss and peace. He remains ignorant, undertaking the journey of life in that manner. When man finds the company of enlightened saints, then he realizes and understands about true basis of his life.
One Can close to God By Coming Close To His People
We say that the world has become too small and distances don’t matter now. Communication is so advanced that messages can be exchanged within seconds. We live in a world which has narrowed down to neighborhood, as if we are living in wards. This is because of communications, transportations, information and scientific developments. We live in a world which has narrowed down to neighborhood, but it has yet to broaden to brotherhood. The feelings of brotherhood are not expanding even though we’ve narrowed down to a global village. We are still maintaining distances. Saints have always cautioned man against the absence of the feelings of brotherhood and nearness to one another. These are age old conclusions that if man doesn’t come closer to man, it is not possible that he can come closer to God. Closeness of God cannot be achieved through prayers, holy dips or pilgrimages. One can close to God only by coming close to his people, by embracing mankind. And once man comes closer to man, he comes closer to God also. This is what saints have told since ages.
