Things Are Meant To Be Used And People To Be Loved
How can the earth be transformed into heaven if man continues to tread the path of violence? We often hear: There is no good war or bad peace. The word victory no more signifies achievement but how many are left after explosion and destruction. This is what victory signifies now- a- days. Holy beings strive that man may tread the path of love and shed the feeling of hatred, so that he may follow the path of humanism and be at peace with himself and let others live in peace, and be instrumental in fostering peace and harmony. Those who lead such a life, are blessed. Those who conduct themselves contrarily, follow the demoniac path. Instead of providing relief to the afflicted, they will exploit them. Instead of helping the helpless, they will exploit his helplessness and aggravate his sufferings. This is how people conduct themselves. A poet has aptly said: When my house caught fire, those who came to extinguish it, took away whatever was left. Man has become so selfish that he does not think of others. The Holy beings say: Things are meant to be used and people to be loved. But what is man doing? He is loving things and using the people. 
If we keep our eyes closed and do not look ourselves, how can we embellish ourselves? This is the message which has been given by saints and sages for ages and is being re-iterated here at samagam. The message has been important throughout the ages. With the passage of time, its importance has not lessened like the importance of the Sun. Can it be said that the importance of Sun has lessened since we have entered in the Iron Age or that we no longer need the Sun? Just think of the plight of the people if the Sun does not rise for a few days. The importance of the Sun and its heat and light shall always there. So is the case with love, God and identification with God, in every age and time. This is the point which we understand to truly worship God and to be true lovers of God. Let us sincerely love all people belonging to any nation, in any part of the world. The devotees always pray to God to bless them with the wisdom and knowledge.
