Living Is Above Breathing
All scriptures and utterances of Holy Masters are addressed to humans, considered to be the highest creation. Strangely enough, man, who is said to be the wisest creature, has to be reminded again and again: Be human! Man has achieved much in the material field such as medicine, communication and transport but has not learnt the true art of living. God has blessed us with life but we have not learnt to live. Mere breathing is not living. Living is above breathing. True living is loving. Breathing can be considered as living provided we imbibe love, humility and humanism. Holy beings teach man to love but man has been forgetting it. All the sacred scriptures are meant for humans. All the holy beings manifested to show the path to humans. All this concerns humans. That is why man is being exhorted to be a true human and conduct himself as a human and uphold humanism. 
The devotees have been striving for fostering love and fellowship. The message of human welfare given by the holy beings from age to age is being ignored as due importance is not given to it. Consequently, instead of evolving higher, man has been degrading. Man has entered the 21st century but humanism is still weakening. The number of humans is unlimited but those, who imbibe humanism, are few, which is evident from the prevailing unrest and violence all around. Those who imbibe humanism are a blessing for the earth. They help in sublimating the environment and are truly religious. They inspire the people to be God conscious. They reiterate the holy teachings and inspire man for realizing God so that he may turn a true human. In the absence of God-realization, misconceptions persist. The darkness of ignorance has to be dispelled to shed misconceptions.
