Always Speak about Devotion And Nirankar
Even before assuming the mentorship of the mission, Baba Gurbachan Singh ji used to speak very little. At times he would ask an elderly devotee to deliver the concluding discourse. Once a devotee told Baba ji: Public speaking is an art; how should one address thousands? A speaker has a high standard of self confidence. He knows the fine points of speaking. For example, he thinks that the audience know nothing and he knows everything. Such an attitude raises one's self confidence and enables one to express oneself boldly. To this Baba Gurbachan Singh ji responded: I have no regrets if I cannot speak for even five minutes. Whatever you say may be all right in the political field or for the leader of a Union to regard others as foolish. However, sitting on this dais, I regard all the devotees as great and wiser than me. I can never regard them as foolish. I can neither think of nor feel like this. I do not speak so that others may say that I can speak so well. I am satisfied with even speaking one sentence and that will be about Devotion and Nirankar(Formless). To speak well and impressively is an intellectual exercise. My word is not that of cleverness and intellectualism but of Faith and Heart.
Devotee Always Sees The Light At The End Of The Tunnel
Every devotee reposes his faith in the Satguru. Whatever be the situation, he thinks of the Satguru. He firmly believes that he knows nothing; nothing belongs to him; all belongs to God. If he offers to God what belongs to Him, he loses nothing. That one's body, mind and material belong to God is the first vow prescribed by the Mission. Whatever the circumstances, a devotee says: who knows that beyond pain, there may be happiness. This is the faith of a devotee and he is ever optimistic, even-minded and happy. He always sees light at the end of the tunnel. Those, who are dyed in the divine hue, lead a contented life. They are equipoised and are not affected by the world. They give importance to the spiritual wealth. Maya or Mammon means not only precious stones or property but anything that leads us away from the holy congregation and God. We have to get rid of such delusion to be affected or deceived or tempted by it. Saint Kabir says: Wealth is a cheat and it cheat the world. Salutations to the cheat who cheats such a cheat.
